Understand the interface decision

A total-power controller can report net import while one phase exports and another imports more. That may or may not satisfy the applicable connection requirement. The turbine inverter’s balancing capability and the meter arrangement must therefore be checked against the actual rule.

The connection operator determines the applicable grid-interface requirements. Review the approved equipment configuration against those requirements and site conditions. An example from another installation can explain a concept, but cannot authorize a new connection or settings change.

Put these inputs in the review record

Use a project-specific worksheet to capture the following information. For each entry, name the document, revision and person responsible for resolving any uncertainty.

• The approved definition of export at the connection point. Identify the exact configuration and the supporting document.
• Per-phase load and generation behavior in the intended arrangement. Keep the design assumptions visible in the project record.
• Meter phase mapping and aggregation method. Name the responsible reviewer and resolve any missing information.
• Converter capability to respond to the required total or phase-specific limit. State how this entry will be verified during acceptance.

Define the acceptance boundary

Accept the control strategy only when its measured quantity matches the permitted constraint. Do not assume that a three-phase connection automatically allows phase netting. Resolve any mismatch with the connection operator and equipment supplier before relying on the controller.

Test representative unbalanced conditions rather than only balanced loads. Keep per-phase values with the total so a reviewer can see which requirement the installation demonstrated and which behavior was not assessed.
