How should an automatic gate's power demand be separated from its required access service?

The short answer

Separate travel events from the equipment that stays ready to receive an access request. The gate can use controls, readers, detectors and other accessories while its motor is stopped. Required access and outage behavior belong to the site's approved gate design. Neither motor kW nor a small daily energy total defines that complete service.

Identify the installed service chain

List the operator, control unit, actual access devices and separately supplied accessories. Ask the owner which functions must remain available and in which operating states. Do not assume every gate has the same open/closed response to source loss or that an optional backup in a manufacturer's range is installed. CAME's product example illustrates that such features are configuration-specific.

Combine event and continuous demand

Hypothetically, a 10 W ready load uses 0.24 kWh over a day, while twenty one-minute events at 300 W add 0.1 kWh. The simplified total is 0.34 kWh before excluded loads. These invented values are not gate ratings or a movement duty limit. Short travel energy does not establish that a small source can support the required motor input.

A gate's required ready service can be continuous even when travel events are rare. Compare that small baseline with the installation and maintenance burden of candidate supplies before selecting a turbine power class.

Define acceptance through actual access service

Provide the approved event frequency, electrical starting requirements and allowed response to a power interruption. Include communication or reader recovery if required for access. Any emergency, entrapment or access-control behavior must remain with the qualified gate and site teams; this page provides no setting or bypass procedure. The wind integrator should assess contribution to the defined electrical profile. A MARSTON turbine rating cannot establish gate safety, supported movement or guaranteed access when local wind generation is unavailable.
