Application integration
Does a powered weighbridge indicator prove that the weighing service is ready after an interruption?
The short answer
No. An energized indicator confirms only part of the weighing chain. The installed scale may need its approved reference state, stabilization and functioning transaction peripherals before the operator can accept a weighing result. Power restoration must therefore be distinguished from return of the complete weighing service, especially when it supports commercial records.
Identify the complete weighing boundary
Record the indicator, load cells or junction equipment, communications and peripherals actually used, such as an approved printer or transaction system. Obtain the installed instructions and the owner's acceptance requirements. METTLER TOLEDO documents configuration-dependent power-up reference behavior; those examples do not establish a universal zeroing procedure or legal-for-trade status for another scale.
Require a supported ready state
Ask how the operator establishes that the system is ready after a supply interruption and how that state is recorded. A numeric display or a link to the office does not independently prove accepted measurement. Do not infer calibration from the indicator having rebooted, and do not perform unauthorized zero/reference changes to make a restart look successful.
Retain the interrupted transaction's status. A later valid weighing does not retroactively establish whether a previously printed or transmitted weight record was complete and accepted during the power disturbance.
Assess electricity and service separately
Measure the complete input, including continuous excitation and any event-driven peripherals at the chosen boundary. State the required restart duration and accepted treatment of interrupted transactions. A low annual energy demand can favor simpler supply options, while the required continuity may remain important. Give those conditions and the actual electrical interface to the wind integrator. The weighing owner retains measurement acceptance and applicable approval responsibilities. No MARSTON weighing accuracy, commercial certification or compatible indicator supply is established by matching a turbine's nominal output to electronics watts.
