Small wind / Buyer questions
Application integration
Can a hydraulic power pack stop consuming electricity once its accumulator is charged?
The short answer
Not automatically. A charged accumulator can provide hydraulic capacity within an approved operating range, while the power pack may still need pressure maintenance, cooling, controls or other services. The actual motor and standby logic determine demand. Accumulator pressure alone does not show zero input or establish how long the required hydraulic service remains available.
Identify the supported power-pack states
Obtain the actual hydraulic and electrical diagrams, pump controls and applicable standby description. Bosch Rexroth illustrates load-dependent power-unit operation; it does not establish the same behavior for every unit. Distinguish stopped motor, reduced-speed operation, unloaded circulation and ready states. A pressure switch indication cannot replace an input measurement or describe all auxiliary loads.
Follow use and pressure maintenance
Record the process's hydraulic withdrawals, permitted pressure range and any actual replenishment events. Leakage or a required circulation path can change the interval between charging events, but do not assign an unmeasured leak rate. Shared cooling or filtration may remain active independently of pump charging. Include its electricity once at the chosen boundary, even if the main motor is off.
Keep hydraulic readiness and a motor-stop indication separate. A stopped pump might coexist with accepted stored service in one state, while another state requires replenishment or a different retained auxiliary.
Assess a complete accepted service period
Ask the hydraulic owner how the unit responds when wind contribution falls and what supply is required for mandatory operations. Do not change accumulator pressure, relief settings or standby logic to create apparent flexibility. Give the integrator the accepted state/input profile and the useful hydraulic demand, including recovery after use. A renewable energy total cannot establish holding, actuation or thermal performance. No MARSTON hydraulic package or direct interface with the customer's power pack is confirmed by this general description.
