Wind Turbine Warranty Scope: Questions for the Actual Offer
A warranty duration is only one part of a warranty comparison. Identify the actual covered equipment, agreed start condition and remedy scope. Keep coverage questions separate from maintenance planning and do not assume that a turbine warranty covers the complete project.
Read the covered object and remedy, not just the years.
An equipment warranty, a local service agreement and a performance undertaking can describe different responsibilities.
01 / Applicable document
Identify the offer and equipment it covers.
Request the warranty text applicable to the quoted model and configuration.
Request the warranty text applicable to the quoted model and configuration. Retain issuer, revision and the offer to which it relates. A brochure headline or another project’s agreement is not enough to establish the current warranty terms.
DOE’s Small Wind Guidebook recommends asking how long a warranty lasts and what it includes. This page extends that question into a structured review without importing generic industry durations. No MARSTON warranty period or warranty package is confirmed here.
02 / Covered objects
Separate turbine equipment from the complete site.
Identify whether blades, generator, yaw equipment, controller and converter are within the same document or separate agreements.
Identify whether blades, generator, yaw equipment, controller and converter are within the same document or separate agreements. Tower and site works may involve other parties. Coverage of an assembly should not be silently extended to everything shown on a system diagram.
An original review row can identify object, supplied_by, document_reference and coverage_status. Keep “unclear” separate from “excluded”. The review should make the boundary understandable before the buyer compares time periods or support arrangements.
03 / Start and duration
Record the stated timing conditions.
Check the defined start event, duration and any relevant timing conditions in the actual text.
Check the defined start event, duration and any relevant timing conditions in the actual text. Shipment, receipt, installation and acceptance can be different project dates. The purpose is to identify which date the agreement uses, not prescribe a legal interpretation.
Retain evidence of the applicable event and ask how delayed installation is treated if the document does not make this clear. Do not reset a start date in the comparison record because another milestone seems more convenient.
04 / Remedy boundary
Distinguish replacement items from site services.
Identify what the document says about assessment, repair or replacement and the responsibilities for labour, transport and local access.
Identify what the document says about assessment, repair or replacement and the responsibilities for labour, transport and local access. A remedy involving an equipment item may leave other project tasks outside the issuer’s scope.
Ask about access costs, removal or reinstallation responsibilities and service location without inventing coverage. Keep an independent local maintenance agreement separate. This guide does not establish worldwide onsite support, spare-part availability or a particular resolution time.
05 / Conditions
Read exclusions and responsibilities with the scope.
Record the conditions and exclusions that appear in the actual agreement, along with any required records or responsibilities.
Record the conditions and exclusions that appear in the actual agreement, along with any required records or responsibilities. Avoid creating a generic list and treating it as the supplier’s policy. Questions about third-party equipment or configuration changes need an applicable written response.
Coverage of a failure does not automatically mean coverage of lost energy, production interruption or every associated cost. Likewise, a maintenance record is evidence of an activity, not a legal conclusion about eligibility. Resolve material questions with the contracting parties and appropriate advisers.
06 / Support enquiry
Prepare an evidence-based question before purchase.
State the covered object, configuration, service location and specific unclear term.
State the covered object, configuration, service location and specific unclear term. Retain the response with the actual offer. Use the spare-parts identity guide for matching equipment versions without assuming parts availability.
For a MARSTON purchase discussion, ask for the applicable warranty scope for the specified supplied equipment. Keep warranty, local service and performance evidence as separate records. This page is a document-review guide, not a promised warranty or legal advice.

Prepare the information for this review.
Use the checklist to organise the project information. Mark unavailable items and retain document references.
| Review item | Information to provide | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Document identity | Issuer, revision, offer and configuration | Use applicable terms. |
| Covered objects | Turbine, electrical equipment, tower and outside work | Locate the warranty boundary. |
| Timing basis | Stated start event, duration and event evidence | Compare the same conditions. |
| Remedy scope | Items, labour, transport and local access responsibility | Expose service exclusions. |
| Open questions | Relevant clauses, conditions and written responses | Resolve material uncertainty. |
Engineering questions.
Does this page state a MARSTON warranty duration?
No. Obtain the document applicable to the actual offer.
Does an assembly warranty cover site works?
Do not assume that. Identify each covered object and responsible issuer.
Is replacement-part coverage the same as onsite service?
No. Labour, transport, access and installation responsibilities need their own terms.
Can another customer’s warranty define my offer?
No. Use the document applicable to your equipment and agreement.
Does coverage automatically include lost generation?
Only the actual agreement can establish such a scope; do not infer it.
What should accompany a warranty question?
The configuration, relevant document clause, project service location and specific uncertainty.
